The Discipline life of a Christian

The Discipline life of a Christian
Abstract

A Christian and their life of discipline is based on

Spiritual exercises, physical discipline and mental

control. When a person understand that being a

Christian it’s not only to go to church and listen to

the preacher, but  it’s to maintain a discipline life.

Being a Christian, it is to be a disciple of God that

obey His law. The more disciplinants and Christian

is, the better life that will have as Christian.

 Introduction

A productive Christian life is based on an everyday spiritual discipline. The life of a Christian discipline is more than just being responsible with the church assignments. It’s a way of living that covers the spiritual, physical, and mental, areas of a Christian life. In the article called: Four Areas of Christian Discipline said “the entire word "Christian" is simply another word for "disciple" (Acts 11:26), and disciple is simply a branch form of the root word "discipline". So discipline and being a disciple (or Christian) go hand in hand. To be a Christian, you must be disciplined”. There for, if you call yourself Christian your life must be in discipline. Many Christian have dreams and goals that they would like to see materialized, but their undisciplined life style never let them see those dreams and goals come true. Pastor Darrel on the article The Discipline Life said “The reason many do not achieve is that they will not buckle down to demanding discipline. Their ambitions are not beyond their capacity, but beyond their discipline”. When a person comes to Christ is natural that he or she comes with a lot of undisciplined, but once he or she came to Christ their life must change. Jesus makes the changer necessaries to become a discipline Christian. The bible said on 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (NKJV).

Spiritual Discipline

Without the proper relationship with God a Christina life could be defeated. The more a Christian submitted them to a spiritual discipline the more productive relationship with God they will obtain. A  Christian life is based on a good communication with God. For this, Christian should keep a spiritual discipline based on the spiritual exercise and responsibilities in the church. There are three spiritual exercises that the bible says that help to have a strong Christian life and those are  praying, fasting and reading the bible. Jesus said, Watch therefore, and prays always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man. (Luke 21:36 NKJV). Prayer is a tool that helps the Christian to maintain their self in a strong position. Also, praying is the way Christian has to talk to the Father God and to maintain a close relationship. Keeley Chorn said on her article Why is Important to Pray “God wants his people to be involved in the day-to-day affairs of his kingdom work. He wants us to gather together in his name or to pray in private, so that we can ask and see him at work in our lives and in our world”. The discipline of an everyday prayer will guide the Christian to an increase in their spiritual discernment on what is good or bad for them. Fasting is an exercise that helps the Christian to have control of the body and mind. When a man or woman fast, they are telling God that they are submitted to His wills.  Also, the bible said that some problems and situation will by defeated only with fasting and prayers “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting” (Matthew 17:21 NKJV). Other discipline that maintains growing the faith of a Christian is to read the word of God, the bible. King David said “I will delight myself in your statutes; I will not forget your word. (Psalms 119:16). The Christians should delight reading the bible. The bible statement, that where the Christians obtain faith to overcome any negative situation that could come against them.  The word of God is the food that feed the soul of a Christian. The Christian that does not read the word of God will perish. Other discipline is to be responsible with the church assignments. Attending to church, offered, giving the tithes, and submission to the church leader it is part of a Christian good discipline.   A few of people says that they are Christian but they do not like to submit them to authority. Tony E. Denton said on a article “Habitual rebellion is the cult of weaklings rather than strong”. To have a strong character do not means that he or she will do what you what, it mean that h e or she will obey the leadership at church. Giving the offrend and the tithers is mandatory by God ,failure to do so, lead to be disobedient to God’s law. God said on the book of the prophet Malachi “ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,  That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this, Says the LORD of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it” ( Malachi 3:10 NKJV). A good disciple of God will always follow God’s law on the tithes and with the offered responsible with the church To perform on a daily bases the spiritual exercises and help to make a honest Christian and a good disciple.

 Physical Discipline

Pastor Darrel said on his article the discipline Life “Discipline must include the ability to subordinate the body and bring its physical appetites to the services of the will of the mind. The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27 “I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection”. The finest display discipline is not spectacular achievement, but rather the permanent adjustment of a living pattern”.  It’s a Christian duty to have control on their appetite, the bible says  that the body of a Christian is the temple of the Holy Spirit.Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthian 6:19 NKJV)  The body of man and woman of God is the temple where the Spirit of God rest and the temple of God cannot in a bad condition. It’s not to be conceited in personal care, but that represents a child of God. Many people will receive at first the word of God because of the appearance of the person who preaches the Gospel of Christ. It is part of an everyday discipline to eat healthy, do exercises and to have a good personal hygiene. Some people are always asking for prayers because they are sick, but in some occasion those illnesses are cause bad habit of eating, no doing exercise and a bad personal hygiene.  Christian are part of the body of Christ, most has a good physical discipline to set example in people, not only in the word of God, but also to teach other how to take care of them.
Mental Discipline
The word of God says to love God with all our mind, heart and soul. When a Christian lets God guide their thoughts, their heart and soul will be guard of bad thoughts. A disciplined Christian never will be saying “today I am sad” or “I do not feel like doing that”. A disciplined Christian will always have control of their mind, and will never let a bad day to management their days. This means that a disciplined Christian will have control on their emotion. Pastor Darrel wrote on his article The Discipline Life “Change in feeling is inevitable. A failure in work can affect how one feels. Physical weariness. The weather, a letter from home, personal misunderstanding are littler things that play on one’s spirit and produce variation in their feeling. One gets strange impulse to take a trip, make unwise purchase, or in general, just neglect duties.  One excuses it by saying, “It was just one of my moods”. The tendency to exhibit moodiness is a great weakness.    A disciplined perosn learns to apply himself to tasks consistently in spite of vary “Moods”, he is temperamentally even. He has disciplined himself to be reliable; however he might “feel”. He is always cheerful and cooperative regardless of feeling, circumstances, or weather.” To have control of over the mind is to have control in the economic areas. A Christian needs to know when to spend and when to save money. It’s very important to the Christian youth, to have mental control; so they will not fall under the peer pressure that other could place on them. The Christian marriages also need to have control on their moods. When the husband come from work tired, need to have control on is mood and not to get a bad attitude toward the wife and the children. The wife need to have a good mood toward the children and the husband after a long day, because that will maintain a relax and calm environment in the home.
Christian also needs to have self- control on how to act in front of other. Some people will come to Christ not for what they will hear, but because of the example that Christian will set in front of others. The best preach that a Christian can do is a good example, and the only way a Christian could show a good example is having self control.  Self control at the time to talk, what to say, when to say it or to whom what it says in the moment. To have mind control will set a example to other and to show God love to other. Christian as disciple of Christ need to  show God personality in them to others.

Conclusion

The bible said in the book of Proverbs “Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls” (Proverbs 25:28 NKJV).  A Christian that does not live a life of discipline will end destroying their life. The discipline life of a Christian is not only accepting Jesus in their hearts and goes to church. Christian life it’s complement by a good spiritual discipline, physical discipline and mental discipline. All together make a responsible Christian.  One of the main reasons why Christian does not reach their goals and dreams are because they are living a undisciplined life, and that make impossible to acquire their dreams. As a person come to Christ, one of the very first thing that will do as a Christian is to get to know what is to live a life of discipline. Being a Christian is not just to go to church, but is also to put order in those areas in disorder for a long time. And how the order comes to a person? by learning how to live a discipline life. The more discipline a Christian learn and practice, the most successful their life will be as a Christian and, in their secular lives. Pastor Darrel on the article The Discipline Life said “Discipline is not a matter of rigid, routing and habits, battering one’s way through at any cost, a bull-headedness.  Intelligent flexibility is the world”.  Disciple brings the blessing to a Christian.

A DISCIPLINE LIFE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE LAND OF BLESSING.
