Depression, Stress and Anxiety

Introduction:


Among the Christian  community have always existed and will exist the following question:  It’s  normal for a Christian suffering from depression and anxiety? It’s normal for the human being, at some point in their lives to experience a state of sadness, frustration, depression and anxiety, stress, for a short time. The bad thing is when these states of emotional overtake their live as a permanent tenant in their minds. Understand that in the journey of life we ​​come across obscure circumstances, for example, death of a loved one, loss of work and material, emotional problems diseases. These negative developments are in generally the causes of depression, anxiety, sadness and stress in life. We know well these emotional disorders to detect them when they approach our lives. Know them better know how to fight against them and how to live a life full of joy without forgetting that our joy, peace and joy from God in the midst of all that we can spend He is always in control.

Depression

Depression in Latin (depresus) which means dejected defeated. It is a state of despondency and unhappiness is an emotional condition that affects our spiritual live. Depression can be temporary or permanent; depression can be viewed as a predator of human happiness. A depression decreased work performance of individuals, has a state of lack of interest in their daily work, and neglect their appearance.


Symptoms of depression:


· Sleeping too much not sleeping


· Eating too much do not eat


· Boredom Tearful (a)


Suicidal thoughts



 Do not socialize


· Low self-esteem

Difficulty concentrating


· Desperate (a) Restlessness


One of the most effective methods for a depressive person are therapies, because in them the patient can talk and express what causes depression. Affection and attention to a person with depression can overcome it. In the most extreme cases of a depression, the suicide thought over take the person mind, and end up dead.

What are the causes that lead a person to depression?


I. A person predisposed to depression: A person who has low self-esteem (a), and believes that everything goes wrong. But the says the word of God for this:

"So God created man in His image, the image of God he created them male and female he created"
 Genesis 1:27.

"Who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one despise "The Bible (King James 1960) Titus 2:14-15


II. Guilt and shame: this is self-critical people who demand more than they can give, or some secret sin what tells us the word of God: "Come now, let us reason together says the Lord: though whatever your sins as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool "The Bible (King James 1960) Isaiah 1:18.

The distress caused by losses: as job loss, death of a relative or loved one, lost in natural disasters, Jesus told us when he was the ground on the afflictions "These things have I spoken to my you have, peace in the world you have tribulation, but take heart I have overcome the world "The Bible (King James 1960) John 17:33

IV. In women the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, abortion , not being able to have children by postpartum, single parenthood, menopause.

Stress


Stress or alertness, is s fatigue defense reaction. It is a physiological reaction of the organism that comes in various defense mechanisms to cope with a situation. It is a worrying factor that causes stress.

Stress is a necessary body's response to a threat, but left unchecked can potentially cause major health problems.

Symptoms of the body's response to stress:


· Glass peripheral contrition Tachycardia


· Mydriasis Taquipnia


· Constipation adrenaline Up


Impaired glucose · Upload immune system


These symptoms are necessary to survive a threat in the short time.


But when a state changes from short-term, to a long term cause health problem, when medium-term periods, this designate alert the body's reserves. The strong short-term stress such as waiting in an operating room by a family member is enough to destroy several of the connections between the neuroses and special areas of the brain. Acute stress can change the anatomy of the nerve cell or neurons, and a chronic stress decreases the size of the brain area memory manager. Stress in the brain because this is the one that recognizes the stressors. Stressors which may be:


 Situations that require quick response process


· Stimulus harmful environment


· Be prepared for an emergency


· Illness, adding


· Locks to our interests


· Pressure group


· Frustrations


That diseases caused by stress?


· Thrombosis (blockage of blood vessels)


· Anxieties


· Depressions


· Immunodeficiency


· Muscle aches


· Insomnia


· Disorders of attention


Can stress with us? Read Philippians 4:6-7, 19
 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Anxiety

it is very common in humans at some point in their lives that pass through states of anxiety when faced with certain circumstances of powerlessness. What is anxiety? The anxiety comes from the Latin word (anxieta) meaning, anguish, grief. Increase is in fear, panic attack. Anxiety is a constant concern, a person with anxiety always expect the worst. 5% of the people in the United States suffer from anxiety, and 3% 5% are diagnosed with DGA, General Anxiety Disorder. The word also indicates anxiety distraction, burden, worry, be concerned in advance.


Anxiety has physical and mental symptoms.


Mental symptoms:


· Phobias Sorrows


· Irritability Panics


· Insecurity Hyperactivity


· Trouble sleeping Feeling of surprise


Difficulty to communicate


Physical symptoms:


· Sweating Muscle tension or muscle weakness


· Diarrhea Tremors of the hands


Increased urination · Working in swallowing


· Nausea Cardiac Arrhythmias


· Hypoglycemia fatigue


· Mydriasis (dilated)


A person with anxiety tends to become depressed, a study in USA shows that 58% to 70% of people with anxiety experience depression. Bible tells us about the fears and anxieties. Anxiety can more than us? People with anxiety usually arrive at the emergency hospital, one of the treatment that doctors recommend is to leave the stress and make a change in your diet, and not coffee or snuff, chocolate sodas, candy.

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them "
